Perfect

Gostamos de Wim Wenders.

Do Lisbon Story (especial), do Paris, Texas (heavy), do Asas do Desejo (belo demais), e de outros, que diabo, do Buena Vista !

e deste Perfect Days.

Obrigatório Recolher

"Lou Reed recorded the album Berlin in 1973. It was a commercial failure. Over the next 33 years, he never performed the album live. For five nights in December 2006 at St. Ann's Warehouse Brooklyn, Lou Reed performed his masterwork about love's dark sisters; jealousy, rage and loss."

Coney Island Lou

"I was born in Brooklyn and I am a Coney Island Baby.
It was 1975 and I was being sued by a manager and his producer brother. I had released an album called Metal Machine Music which had had an unusually high number of returns and was taken off the market in 3 weeks. I had no money and no guitars. The roadies had taken them when they hadn't been paid. I was in debt to everyone, including the musicians union. RCA put me up in a hotel while the future fell, to be decided.
My friend Ken Glancy was the President of the company and he was a straight shooter and a noble man of honor. He asked me if I would promise not to do Son of Metal Machine Music. I said for sure. I was nothing but trouble. The nightmare of betrayal haunted me.
Ken put me up in the Gramercy Park Hotel. (...) I wasn't going anywhere but to the union, the lawyers and accountants to try to get me out of the classic mess I had let happen to me. I was amongst other things in contempt of court and had not had my taxes paid for the last 5 years.
Then Ken Glancy called and told me ok, pick a studio and go in and make a rock record.
And so I did."

Sunday Morning

"To our neighbors:
What a beautiful fall! Everything shimmering and golden and all that incredible soft light. Water surrounding us.
Lou and I have spent a lot of time here in the past few years, and even though we’re city people this is our spiritual home.
Last week I promised Lou to get him out of the hospital and come home to Springs. And we made it!
Lou was a tai chi master and spent his last days here being happy and dazzled by the beauty and power and softness of nature. He died on Sunday morning looking at the trees and doing the famous 21 form of tai chi with just his musician hands moving through the air.
Lou was a prince and a fighter and I know his songs of the pain and beauty in the world will fill many people with the incredible joy he felt for life. Long live the beauty that comes down and through and onto all of us.

"NYC Man" *

[foto: andré]
[NYC, Outubro 2011]

You say "leave" and I'll be gone
without any remorse
No letters faxes phones or tears
there's a difference between bad and worse

I'm a New York city man, blink your eyes and I'll be gone
New York city - man, M-A-N, you blink your eyes and I'll be gone

New York city, I love you, New York city man
New York city, how I love you, blink your eyes and I'll be gone
just a little grain of sand
New York city, ooohhh, how I love you
New York city, baby, blink your eyes and I'll be gone
Oh, how I love you

Berlim

In Berlin, by the wall

you were five foot ten inches tall
It was very nice
candlelight and Dubonnet on ice

We were in a small cafe
you could hear the guitars play
It was very nice
it was paradise
(…)
In a small, small cafe
we could hear the guitars play
It was very nice
candlelight and Dubonnet on ice
